Frequently Asked Questions

You've asked it.  We've answered it.  If you have another question, contact us.

Do you give free consultations?

No, we don't.  Why?  Because we've learned a few things in the time we've been doing this.  First, when people book something that is free, they tend not to show up.  Second, people book free consultations to learn what they need to do and then they try to go do it themselves--and it never ends well.  So we charge a nominal fee to hold the appointment slot open for you.  If, after meeting with us, you decide to hire us, we will gladly credit your consultation fee to the cost of continuing services.

How long have you been in business?

Southeastern Law LLC opened its doors in June of 2017.

Where is your office?

Southeastern Law LLC operates virtually and mobilely.  That keeps overhead low and our fees competitive.  When an in-person meeting is necessary, we will gladly come to your home, office, hospital room, or nursing home.  Rest assured that you are receiving the same level of excellence as you would with a large, guilded law firm.

My mom is bed-ridden.  Can you come here?

Absolutely!  If an in-person meeting is necessary, we are happy to come to your home, office, hospital room, or nursing home.  Southeastern Law LLC is fully mobile.

How do I get started with the firm?

Can you attend an IEP/504 meeting at my child's school?

We are happy to help you with your child's IEP/504 meeting, but we do not attend in person.  We will attend virtually.  Rest assured, our level of fierceness on your child's behalf is not lessened by distance.  Better yet, let us train you how best to advocate without us.  We know a thing or two about dealing with school districts.

Do you handle divorces?

Oh, hell no.  Family law is a special kind of craziness that we don't put a toe into.  But we know some awesome local attorneys for you to call:

Megan Hunt Dell @ Ashby Jones & Associates

Lauren Edwards @ Lauren Edwards Family Law

Natasha Chisolm @ The Chisolm Law Firm

My son was arrested last night.  Can you help?

That's also a no.  You don't want us coming to the jail at midnight on a Saturday. Criminal law is not our area of expertise.  There are far smarter attorneys than us to handle your case.  Call one of these attorneys:

Jim Bannon @ Bannon Law Group

Sheila Mims @ Templeton, Mims & Ward LLC

April Sampson @ Ashby Jones & Associates
